I've been looking for a used car for a while, and I narrowed the field down to Acura Legends and Vigors, Maximas and Honda's. I want to stay around the 10K range but can be flexible. Ideally, I'd get a 95 Legend, because I believe they have the best reliability record of all the Legends.

The 91 I found is at a dealer. It's a metallic white color with tan leather interior. It has a few nicks on it that the dealer will repair. Otherwise, the exterior is clean. It's an eye catcher. It certainly caught my eye driving by. Anyway, the interior is very clean. There is a flaw or two in the top of the leather seat in the rear, and something semi-corrosive was spilled in the arm-rest storage compartment. Other than that, it's clean.

I sense a minor adjustment may be needed in the drivers side door, as it gave me a little difficulty opening it a few times. The door seal is worn as well.

The Bose stereo definitely has a problem. I used th fader and balance to check all the speakers. The rear drivers side definitely has a problem, and perhaps the drivers door speaker as well.

Inside the trunk, the fiber wall on the back appeared to have been removed for some reason, and was not replaced correctly. I'm not sure why. Perhaps someone was trying to fix the stereo? I read here that others have had the same problem with the Bose stereo.

The rear passenger door has flecks of cream paint overspray on it, I assume from a repair done to the door panel, though I can't find it.

It has Bridgestones on it, in good shape, but road and wind noise are noticeable.

    The engine compartment is spotless.

When leaving a stoplight, I can feel a slight chatter as the rpm's go from 600-1000. I'm worried about a tranny problem. Could this just be something like exhaust? I've never heard an automatic chatter.

Overall, it's a very clean car that needs a little bit of attention. I'm tired of looking at buying other people's problems. Too many junkers in dark colors on the market (I live in a hot sunny climate). I need white or pastel colors. My current Honda is black, so I know why people sell them in the winter.

The dealer claims retial to be $13,900. The Kelley Retail value is $13,360. Edmunds lists the car at $10,282 clean, $11,230 in excellent condition, which would have to include the paint fixes, the stereo fix, the door and seal fix, and a checkout of the potential tranny issue. (Why such a difference between Edmunds and KBB? I find this to be fairly common between the two.) Still, that's $2670 lower than their ask price. The salesman is nice, seems honest and direct, and we talked about $12,000, though not seriously. The private party price on the car would be more like $9,000, though this would be a very desirable car at that price. It wouldn't last long.

Does anyone have any input on the potential tranny issue or stereo issue, and what the repair costs could be? I like the car, but it is 10 years old. What's a fair price?

Could it be that the problem with the 91 Legend I want to buy is a tranny mount? It goes like this....

I take off slowly from a stop light, and somewhere between 600-1000 RPM's, I get a vibration that sounds like clutch chatter from a standard transmission, which this is not, but that's what it sounds/feels like. Was that your experience?

For those of you that have the problem with the Bose amps, I found this site. $99 plus shipping for any repair.

I recently developed a chirping/whirring noise in the front left corner of my Legend. I finally unscrewed the speedometer cable coupler in the engine compartment and my noise disappeared. After lubricating the top half, I reconnected the cable and my noise came back, but it wasn't quite as loud. When it was disconnected the automatic did not shift the same. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Can anyone offer advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks
  • goralgoral Member Posts: 145
You didn't say how many miles the Legend has... However, regardless of miles, I think the dealer is asking too much... After all, the car IS 10 years old! I currently own '91 Legend w/ 113K miles, and am very happy w/ it.
From experience (and research) I know of following COMMON problems w/ Legends:
    1) Cracked radiator top
    2) Transmission mount
    3) Door lock actuator (had to replace mine)
    4) ABS/TCS speed sensor(s) (bad on mine, don't feel like replacing it)
    5) Master window/door switch (replaced mine - $380 ouch!)

Regarding maintenance - the timeing belt/water pupm is a biggie here. Recommended at 90K -> dealers usually quote between $700-$900, although I had mine done for $450 (bought my own parts, and had my mechanic change them).

I have a buddy of mine who has offered to sell me his 94 Acura Legend L 4dr sedan. With options, KBB lists it at about $14100. He is offering to sell it to me for $13000. The car runs
exceptionally well. The exterior and interior are very good as well. The car has about 90000 miles on it. I know the Legend has a very good reputation, but should I worry about the mileage?
  • rc52rc52 Member Posts: 27
I just sold my '90 Legend L with 92K miles. My tranny was diagnosed as requiring replacement from 2 different Acura specialists, at a cost of around $2500. I don't buy that statement that tranmissions are designed to shift "hard" to give more performance. I think the long 500 mile drives at 80mph last year fried my tranny. It was not shifting into 2nd gear even under light throttle until the engine got well into the 4000rpm range. Sometimes it would shift into 2nd, others it would slam/thunk into 3rd. I did a power flush of the entire transmission fluid - but it didn't aleviate the shifting symptoms. I thought long and hard about repairing it and keeping the car for a few more years, but I decided to get a new car with more up-to-date technology features.

Sometimes the chatter from 600-1000 RPMs is from the heat shields around the catalytic convertor or the B pipe heat shield. These can rust and then rattle annoyingly at a certain RPM. The best advice before buying any car is to take it to someone who can check the car out thoroughly!

I am looking at buying an 89 Legend 2 Dr. coupe with 88K on it from a dealership. I am wondering what to look out for and what questions to be asking. I am also wondering what type of gas mileage it gets. From most of the posts here, it seems like this would be a great used car to buy. Since Edmund's also only goes back to 1990 for a price report I was wondering what a fair price would be on a car like this.
  • cook2ucook2u Member Posts: 2
Just bought a 91 LS coupe; the car was pretty clean in and out and as 88K miles on it. I paid $8,500 for it from a dealer in Florida where I live. I have also experienced a tranny(?) "chatter" at times, especially in first gear. I am reading (here) that this could be the transmission mounting bracket(?). Is it really true that these Honda products shift "hard"? (as the dealer said) or is this a transmission problem? How can I tell if the timing belt has already been changed by the previous owner(s) ? Any idea where I might find an original-equiptment working radio? Also need a new power antenna.....otherwise, really like the car! Thanks for any input!
  • rc52rc52 Member Posts: 27
    Cook2u -
If it's an AT you're talking about you should get that checked out. I experienced similar chatter in 3rd/4th (sort of like driving over a washboard) but I ignored it thinking it was just rough road. A year later my tranny needs to be rebuilt, and the service tech asked if I ever experienced that washboard-like chatter sensation. He said that's the first indication of a possible tranny wearing out - something about the torque converter not staying locked?
You should investigate maybe having the AT fluid power flushed to get rid of the old fluid in the converter. Regular drain and fill AT servicing doesn't empty the converter - but be warned - the Acura tech doesn't recommend due to "sensitive" internal valving in the AT unit. Maybe they were just saying that to get me to bite for the $2500 rebuilt unit. I ended up selling the car instead.
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
A customary weak link is the rear engine mount (which one tech called a transmission mount) going bad. Don't accept a hard shifting auto transmission - this needs maintenence and some people do the flush and switch to Redline ATF to fix this. There is a plug to inspect the timing belt and if the seal on the plug is untampered then it most likely has not been done. There are at least two OEM Bose radios and some power antennas on eBay now if you search under "Legend".
  • cook2ucook2u Member Posts: 2
Thanks for your helpful comments and responses to my questions about the '91 Legend I just bought. I took it to a (friendly) mechanic today and of course there was no "chatter" when he drove it; (but it's there). I also (now) noticed a mild vibration in the engine at 1500 RPM's when in neutral(????) but not present at any other time. Please tell me this isn't serious (PLEASE!). LOL. I am going to try and get the transmission flushed as recommended and try the redline ATF. Then if that doesn't work I'm taking my Legend to Lourdes for a dip in the Holy water.
Thanks again for the assistance! You guys(?) are the best!

I have a 90 Legend Coupe LS with 135k and have loved it!! I am looking to get a 95 LS Coupe with manual transmission and wanted to see if there is anything I should watch out for. Would love comments from anyone with late model coupes with manual transmission (6 speeds). Any regrets vs. automatic?!?
  • pjdcpapjdcpa Member Posts: 1
I think $13k for that car is high. For comparison, I am currently selling a '95 SE w/ 85k miles for $14k. Edmunds puts the private party deal for the car you are looking at around $10,800 which seems to be a little more accurate than the KBB value (which puts my car at $17k)
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
The decision to go auto or manual is very personal. If you have to have a manual (you know who you are!) there is no substitute. I have a 6 speed GS sedan which is staying put with me for a while. On the other hand, if you're constantly in stop-and-go rush hour traffic I thoroughly understand wanting an automatic. Another factor: my parents don't see any point in buying a luxury car (ie: Legend) and then defeating the purpose of having a luxury car by getting the stick. They have a point - most of the buyers of Legends got it for cruising, not zipping.

PS. Check the rear engine mount (transmission) before purchase and radiator (cracks in plastic)

I am looking to buy a 94 or 95 Acura Legend 4 door with the six speed tranny in it. I test drove one today and it seemed to have a vibration at around 1500 rpm. Is this normal or is something wrong. Also the dealer wants $14,900 for it which I feel is high. It has 75,000 miles on it but it has two small dents behind the rear door. Other than that it is in great shape for a 7 year old car. I am going to look at another 94 tomorrow that is exactly the same car except it has gray leather instead of tan and it has 64,000 miles on it. This one is from a private owner and he wants $15,500 which is even worse. He did tell me that he had bought Blizzaks for it though. I was figuring on spending no more than $13,500 for one but now I question if that is feasible or not. It seems Legends go for more than book.
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
No, no, no! These prices are not too high! You have lucked into the mother lode of rare GS Legend 6 speeds if you do indeed have a 6 speed with 4 doors. These prices are right in line or maybe a little low as there are any number of folks I know who would love to get there hands on one over at http://forums.legend.org/

(which really is ground zero for Legends).

As far as the car you found, the vibration could be anything from an engine mount to a loose heat shield. They should also have no problem fixing the dents for you.

Hello. I'm checking out an 89 sedan. It has 181,000 miles on it. It's real clean with leather interior. The owner is asking 2900 dollars for it. I'm told it runs good and the engine does not smoke. Should I pursue this car with the high mileage?

I need to replace the timing belt and water pump in my 93 LS sedan. Does anyone know of a reputable shop in NJ that would be less expensive than a dealer?

I have a opportunity to pick up a white legend L
1993 with only 21,790 miles on it!!It is from a family member so i know the service history.
I am concerned that although it has low mileage,it still is a 8 year old car that is not under warranty.
Should i keep this car? Or should i sell it ?
I am currently driving a 1996 Volvo 850 with 65,000 miles on it.
I do not know alot about acuras, i would really appreciate alot of info about this car to help me make a intelligent decision.
  • goralgoral Member Posts: 145
The most important question is: how much are they asking for the car??? If the price is right, the car could be a real steal that could last you for 200K miles...
If you really want to get more info about the car, take sfearing's advice and visit forums.legend.org.
It's got to be one of the better, more civilized forums out there in the cyber space...

Just purchased my first Acura Legend LS today....a 1990 LS with 117k miles on it, garage kept, immaculate inside and out, all service records and maintenance done a dealer recommended intervals, including timing belt and water pump at 90k miles. Paid the grand total price of $4,800 from Crown Acura in Richmond, Va. Every oil change done at 3k mile intervals, everything is original and working, car has only had 2 owners since new. Based on what I have seen....looks like this was a pretty decent price. I think it will be a nice addition to my 95 Lexus ES300 and 93 Cadillac Deville. Only bought this as a spare due to the price. Would appreciate any comments as to maintenance items to look out for.

Hi all. I have two Acura Legends; a 1987 and a 1990. I love them both. The '87 has 230,000 miles and only major problem was not replacing the timing belt in-time and had to have top-half of engine rebuilt. That was about 30k miles ago. Problem is a gas smell, mechanics can't seem to figure it out. The Acura dealership after a thorough check suggested $2,400 worth of parts and labor. I about fell over, especially since aside from the gas smell, this car runs excellent. They said I need all 6 fuel injectors, Oxygen sensors, etc, etc, seems like they want to replace anything that is in contact with fuel. I apologize for this long diatribe, but I would really love to know if anyone has had a situation like this, and what did you do? This is my first post to your forum, I relate to all of you other Acura fans out there! (fans of the car, not necessarily the service dept.)

I have been eyeing this Acura Legend for a while now. It has 96K miles on it, and it has leather seats, sunroof, auto. I did not pay too much attention to trunk lid to see any letter disignation for model. Is there any on the trunk lid? If not, how can I tell by looking at the car. What kind of things I need to watch for when buying a legend 91-95 style.

I test drove a 92 with 124K miles several months ago, and I liked the way it drove. It felt like a very refined Accord. Right now, I drive a 96 Camry XLE V-6 with 47K miles. Edmunds put the value of the 47K Camry the same as the 96K mile Legend.

At the beginning of this year, I drove my 1994 Legend GS (I guess) 6-speed manual coupe about 1500 miles to my new place of abode, in the Phoenix area. It was a pleasure to drive and gave me no trouble the whole way.

The problem is what I've posted about before. At low speeds, especially when turning right at low speeds, I hear what I describe as a rumble. At first I thought it was coming from the tires, brakes, or right (psgr) side front, but now I think it may actually be in the steering somehow. No vibration in the steering wheel, though. Front end was checked no less than three times - cv joints are supposedly okay, brakes are new x two months. After reading earlier posts, dealer checked out the heat shield for a different rattle, but rattle not fixed. I'm leaving that one alone until or unless it gets worse, but I'm worried about this rumble sound. And it wasn't the transmission mount that they replaced either--that was causing that dragging feeling when backing out and a big clunk when going over a driveway bump or speed bump, and that was fixed after they replaced that part. Any ideas on whether this is a steering problem or what?

Also, had brakes done because I was hearing a kind of a throbbing noise (woom-woom-woom) while going down the highway - it's beter, but not gone on the passenger front. They replaced the pads and turned the rotors. Any ideas on what the noise I'm still hearing is? Could they have messed that job up too (lots of problems with bad work on timing belt replacement)?

One more mechanical thing - I now have to find someone new to work on this baby. Should I go to the dealer in this area, or should I use a Honda mechanic the people I work with have recommended?

By the way, an earlier post asked about finding a GS coupe 6-speed. Around the time I bought mine (1998) I know there was another one similar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mine is pearl white. And yes, these cars were a limited edition. I got lucky. Good luck finding yours.
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
A gas smell indicates a serious problem you don't want to take a chance with - a fire. Take it to another shop and get another opinion. Maybe something is loose and it's an easy fix. Also there are such things as rebuilt parts and you could find a way to get new parts in the car for a lot less by finding an independent Honda/Acura repairman but first this - how long do you intend to keep the car? If the answer is more than 5 years then it might be worth repairing it if the car is in flawless condition inside and out but realistically, save your money and start looking for another car.
  • siriusgirlsiriusgirl Member Posts: 23
Okay, I'm posting this without looking at my manual for the car. I should know this, but I'm just a part-time car buff. I must have a 1994 Legend LS Coupe, 6-speed manual, since there is no GS model listed when you go under Edmunds "used cars...." Anyone care to clear this up? I've seen others post about GS models that have a 6-speed manual transmission, but apparently there isn't one? You guys that are real car buffs should know the answer, if you care to enlighten us.
  • goralgoral Member Posts: 145
There is no letter designation on Legends... There are several ways to tell which model it is:
if it has automatic climate control, it's most likely LS or GS... If the engine has written "Type II" on it - the car is a GS.
Also, I believe the body molding on L is black, wheras LS and GS have body matching color...

W/ the car having 94K miles, you should find out if the 90K service was performed (mainly timing belt/water pump). If done at the dealership, these two will set you back ~$700/800 (I had mine done by local mechanic - ~$450 using Acura OEM parts).
  • goralgoral Member Posts: 145
Yes, you do have 6 speed LS coupe...
Yes, there are no 6 speed GS coupes, but ... there are 6 speed GS SEDANS...

Btw, can I be your friend :) ??? I would love to get my hands on 6 speed... I only have '91 I auto :(

Regarding mechanic - if you can find someone cheaper than the dealer (yet qualified) I would definitely do it. If needed, you can easily pick up OEM parts on-line (from www.ahmotor.com or www.asian-auto-parts.com). I am fortunate to know someone who is really good and CHEAP (working out of his garage)...
  • siriusgirlsiriusgirl Member Posts: 23
Thanks for the info. Re: the mechanic -- how do I know if they are "qualified?" Is a good Honda mechanic that comes recommended by two people that I work with "qualified" to work on my beloved Acura? Your friend working out of his garage doesn't happen to be in the Phoenix area perhaps? I'd let you drive the 6-speed if he is!

What are OEM parts? Are they substantially cheaper than just letting the mechanic get the parts and then do the work all at once?

How is your 91 holding up? Did you have any ideas on the problems I described? Any info is appreciated!

Hello - I was hoping somebody could help me out with some info on the Legend sedan. Specifically, I'm considering buying a '93 'L' sedan with the 5-spd. It's got 72K on it..mileage and title look OK according to Carfax. I get the feeling from reading thru these posts that it's probably got a few more miles left in it(!) I owned a '94 for a little while a few years back, and discovered that while I really liked the car, I just couldn't live with the automatic (just me - I know some people don't mind the "performance" shifting). But, I always did think it could be a really sweet vehicle with a stick - kinda like the ultimate Accord (and I mean that in a very good way). Which brings me to my first question -are there any reliability problems inherent with the clutch / tranny combo used in the Legend?? I know 95% come with the autos, and didn't know if the 5-spd setup stands up well over time to the torque the V-6 can generate. (I would imagine the 6-spds with the 230hp engines are beefed up). Also, how slick shifting should the tranny be? Is it equal to the 5-spds in the Accord I'm used to driving? I would think so, with Acura being Honda, and all... Lastly, on a more general note, what are some weak spots in the Legend that you all might have noticed? Are the 93's any better or worse reliability-wise than the other years?? Any advice would be appreciated...
  • goralgoral Member Posts: 145
I think in 99.9% cases, Honda mechanic will do just fine fixing your Acura (mine actually specializes in German cars - Audi, BMW, MB... and unfortunately he is located near Chicago :) ).
Regarding OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)parts - these are REAL, Honda-made parts, which are usually better quality than aftermarket stuff (like you buy at Pepboys, Autozone, etc...).

As far as my '91 goes - it's almost been perfect (4 years/70K miles of ownership).
The car now has 114K, and the only problems I've had w/ it are as follows:

    1) CV boot (replaced under extended warranty)
    2) Door lock actuator (warranty)
    3) Master window/door switch ($~280 - that one hurt:))
    4) Left Rear wheel speed sensor - ABS doesn't work (the part is ~$120, and requires about 1hr of work w/ right tools). I haven't changed it yet, don't care for ABS...

That's about it! Not too shabby for a 10 year old car...

As far as your problem goes, I don't know :( ... but, as I mentioned in one of my earlier posts - check out forums.legend.org Unlike this board, there is lots of activity there - ~2000 registered members (50K posts), many of whom are quite knowledgable (several Acura mechanics...)
  • siriusgirlsiriusgirl Member Posts: 23
Thanks -- I will check out that other site. I've heard there are a lot of people here in Phoenix from Illinois. If you make the move, the 6-speed awaits, and these roads are wide and long!

For others who may read this, I, too, had the door actuator problem, but so far no speaker problem. I also had the antenna mast (under warranty, thank goodness) plus some others, but overall, it's a car worth putting money into.
  • L8_ApexL8_Apex Member Posts: 187
If the help of others haven't help you figure this out, there were only two Coupe models in '94, the L and LS. The L trim-level was comparible to the LS in the sedans and the LS was comparible to the GS in the sedan.

As goral mentioned, there is a body molding that's body color on the LS but it's not the door edge guard, it's the very bottom of the front clip, the very bottom of the rocker panel and the very bottom of the rear bumber cover. In addition, the LS has traction control, climate control, a power passenger seat and 16" wheels. The Coupe L did not have these items.

I had a '94 Coupe L. One of the coolest things about that car was how the rear windows go down. When is the last time you saw that in a coupe?
  • vukmanvukman Member Posts: 1
You can use just about any amp.
If the amp has built in line level convertors, then you can use the signal out and go
    directly into the amp.
If not, then you need to use line level convertor ($10), where you would need 2,
one for the rear and one for the front.
I have the premium deck runinng a HiFonics 4 channel amp and RF amp running a
    single 12" sub.

    Hi Legend folks,

Soon I will be buying a Legend and I have a few questions I was hoping some of you could answer.

First of all I am planning on buying a 1993-1995 Black on Black Coupe and I wanted to know which year the 230hp engine came into the picture? If, for example, the 1993 Coupes had that engine, did only some in that year have the 230hp and others with the 200hp? How about with 1994 or 1995?

Also which year did they start having the 3rd Brake light as part of the Trunk, was it 1994 or just in 1995? And do you know of any mechanical or structural problems that were in the 1993 Model that was fixed in the 1994 and 1995 models?

Thanks in advance for your help!!
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
These are the Legends with 230 HP (actually, I believe it is 232 HP):
All Coupes 93-95, Sedans 94-95 only GS trim

Don't know about the 3rd brake light.

The differences are mainly cosmetic between the 93 and the 94-95 coupes (front bumper). I think the 94-95 LS coupes are the only ones with traction control.

I have a black/black 4 door '93 LS with 105,000 miles. I bought it used 5 years ago. I can't believe how well this car runs. I travel a lot and have to rent a lot of different cars and the Legend just impresses me more every time I get back in it. This must must be one of the most underrated cars ever.

This car has had a couple of repairs, 2 radiators, power windows replaced, boots etc. But the biggest problem I cannot get fixed is the Bose unit. When cold the left side has static. After it warms up it is o.k. Has anyone had this and remedied it?

Other than this it has been a great car.

My only problem is what do I replace it with in 3 years. I hope the new RL is more like a Legend so I can buy a used one.
  • sfearingsfearing Member Posts: 31
The Bose stereo is one of the most annoying problems - they should be subject to class action from owners of every make of car that uses them. If you don't get aftermarket here's a reasonable place to get it repaired. Don't bother pricing at the dealer - they'll gouge you!

Thanks for you comments about legend designations. I love to buy the 94 Legend that I have been watching. I am not sure the owner even knows that I am in love with her car!!!! The leather has no crease or wear anywhere. I am driving a 96 Toyota Camry XLE V-6 now, and I love the way this Camry gets up and goes. I know Legend is not as nimble as Camry V-6, but it sure drives nice.

Why would a timing belt and water pump cost $800 to replace? This is not one of those engines that the water pump is driven by timing belt, and the thought is " while you are at it to replace the belt, might as well replace the water pump."

Another thing about Legends; How can I tell 93, 94, or 95 models apart?

Yes, this IS that kind of engine where timing belt drives the water pump... And I can see why you wonder why it costs $800 AT THE DEALER do do the job... That's exactly the reason why I had mine done by my mechanic. Cost me half what the dealer charges for the same job/same parts...

I read somewhere that the timing belt/water pump is a 6 hour job (going "by the book").

    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a 1992 Aura Legend I Coupe 2-door, only one owner. Car looks very fine but has the odd problem where the engine "hiccups" or "misses" sometime after starting out in the morning or when coming home at night. This car is in San Francisco Bay Area, so we are not looking at weather extremes. Problem comes and goes. Owner has had car into dealer many times trying to figure out the problem, and final advice has been to ignore the problem! According to owner, if the problem is going to occur, it occurs at the same place in the commute each day, which would make you think it has something to do with the engine warming to a given temperature... I don't know for sure.

Has anyone in this Aura community heard of a problem like this.

Appreciate any info or pointers people might have.

    Patrick.

I have the opportunity to buy a 1995 Legend with 27,000 miles. It is in very, very good condition. Does anyone have any idea what this car is worth? Also, is there a definitive way to determine what the body style is? (There is no CD player, gold package, or spoiler. It is white, has a sun roof, auto transmission, leather, 6 cylinder engine.) Thanks.

2 or 4 dr.? The wheels on it may give you a clue as to whether it is an L, LS, SE, or GS but why not ask the owner? Looks like it could be a good deal with only 27K miles. Still, have a mechanic check it out.

Hello, I have been doing quite a bit of looking lately for Used Legends and I would say based on what I've seen a 95 Legend with 27,000 Miles would normally go for between $15,000 and $19,000. You might want to check out www.autotrader.com and you can look up Legends all over the country by zip code and see what there selling for. Also www.cars.com has a research feature that has been really helpful to me in researching Legend features and such. One thing I know is a difference as far as a 95 Legend Coupes is that it has a 3rd Brake light as part of the Trunk, which I know for sure the 93 and earlier didn't have that.

Also, you might want to check out the price of Auto insurance before you purchase a 95 Legend. I priced a 95 Legend Coupe 2dr LS with my insurance company (Farmers) and it was $615 every 6 months, she told me it had a rating of "8", which I guess is pretty high in the Auto insurance world. I compared the 95 to a 91 Legend Coupe which was $370 every 6 months. Hope you find the one your looking for!!:)
