But for anyone who is interested, this is a pretty detailed article about the early 90 V6 headgasket warranty experience, through the eyes of a Toyota truck owner.

Market is flooded with lease return 4 bangers right now. Try to find a used V6 and you'll pay a premium.
I found a dealer who has a 2000 camry le with 8000 miles and he is selling it for 16400. Is it a good deal?
I am in the philadelphia area.
What I like about the 4 cylinder is that I average about 28 mpg! With gas approaching $2.00 a gallon this summer, I would recommend the 4!
As far as the CE and the LE, they are the same car, only the LE comes with more standard equipment. You can get almost everything on the CE as the LE as an option; however, the CE only offers the 4 cyl. engine.
And if you're buying used, the overwhelming majority of Camrys will be LEs, not CEs, although most of these will have the 4-cylinder.
I agree with jbkennedy that the Camry 4-cylinder performs about on a par with the Taurus/Sable V6, at least the 3.0-liter "Vulcan" engine.
If you need to drive 80 mph every day with 4 people loaded inside and the A/C on, then it will be a problem if you also have the trunk loaded with heavy objects and drive mostly uphill and you have the tach needle in the red zone.
But it's a little tricky to remove the turn signal lens/housing assembly first to get at the bulb.
check 'em all out, i bet one is out.
either that or a relay.
Most people buy four cylinder Camrys for economy and reliability, NOT for any great acceleration.
The new 2002 Camry will have an increase in power.
The stripped version LE, was $17,800, for the extra $2K I get more features and should get most of that money back at trade in time.
The daytime running lights come with the built in sensor on front passenger side by the windshield you will see the sensor.
ABS per my understanding is standard on the LE models and above and optional on all other models below the LE.
I've had camry's before and attest to there quality. Also the Camry LE Gallery Series I own was built in Japan. That makes me feel even better.:)
The production levels will be high. It will be easy to go to a dealer and pick one up the same day. It is not a PT Cruiser or some limited production rare vehicle.
All dealers as long as possible will get near or full price on the 2002 models. I would expect a camry LE to go for $20K or more. In past model upgrades I have seen the previous model maintain it's value.
There are two music upgrades, one is with a package and the other is the JBL audio system with 10 speakers( I guess 2 standard plus 8). My invoice on window reads 10 speakers.
New models bring unexpected bugs, less with Toyota.
Is this a good price? How much are the LE going for these days?
BTW I am in the philadelphia area.

here in ohio, it is hard to find camry 4cyl le's with abs. out of 10 cars on lot, only 1 had it.
i wonder if abs will be standard on the new le's??
If you plan to keep the camry for a long time, then buy the 2001 now, waiting will get you slim picks as the inventory is reduced. Also if the 2002 are not there in time to fill the GAP , what happens is the previous model goes up in price, ...not down..
Best of luck
I would think they would order enough cars so they don't get caught with no cars to sell while they wait for the 2002s.
Poeple will not pay a premium for a 2001 Camry. If they say the supply is low and they need to mark them up, most people will just go buy an Accord or something else.

I know it's not 85! I took it up to 95mph on a country road last week before thoughts of meeting a state trooper came into my head. The engine was pretty smooth for that speed too.
I have always been a Toyota man, But the last 2 cars I bought were poor experiences. I am now willing to switch brands because of the hassles.
Question: Why should I stay with a Camry over a Civic?
