chol I guess my tongue in cheek comment was taken too seriously. I agree with you on the cost cutting aspect. Still shouldn't leave the pump going and walk away though.
In many states its illegal to leave the pump on while doing other tasks (and common sense). Maybe Jag and VW are just making it easier for those who don't think with the common sense part of their brain?
Even my pos '11 Cruze with 85K miles on it (85K miles on crappy New England roads) doesn't have a creak or rattle in it.
Just drove one of these over the weekend (wife wants one, I wasn't sold on the idea) and I have to say that I was extremely impressed. I did NOT expect to like anything about it, but was completely turned around once I sat in it an drove it.
