It is easier swap to stay with the same generation engine and engine accessories.. S/T-10 Blazer, Generation 1: 1983-1994 .... Blazer, Generation 2: 1995 - 2005. In other words replace your 1997 engine should be replaced with Generation 2 engine.

Have had a very small leak for long time. This week became, guessing, pint in one week. Believe it is crankshaft seals, front and rear. No evidence of burning oil. Can someone tell me what is involved in replacing the seals. Engine runs good. Oil pressure steady around 40. I would like to keep the truck but at 190,000 miles, wonder about the cost effectiveness of maintaining it. Trans. replaced about 20,000 ago. Complete new AC this summer. New front axles complete w/ CV joints this summer. New radiator last year. Seems like a lot but not as much as a new one. All opinions appreciated.

    Thanks
