As we know, all manufacturers are trying to improve fuel economy, and in general Ford has done a good job so it would be interesting to know what the drop in fuel economy here is attributable to e.g. is it more realistic testing by Ford, more aggressive tuning, greater vehicle weight, or something else?

More realistic testing, probably, and 100-200 lbs more weight. But, with the Ecoboost MPG to boast, they don't have to worry as much about the V6 and V8.

I suspect that Ford will sell more EcoBoost 2.3L engines than the V6 which would mean a better overall average at the end of the day for Ford.
