However, my brand new SonyEricson 710 with bluetouth is not working with the car.
I guess I'll just have to wait on the Sirius radio "kit" option.
I'm new to this forum. Just bought a 2002 Range Rover HSE with 40k miles still under manufacturer's warranty. Never having owned a Land Rover before, I was looking to get some pointers from fellow owners as to what to expect and to be on the look out for. Also, is an extended warranty recommended?
I became fond of the Range Rover after attending a Range Rover event last year. It was one classy event. I'm looking forward to the next one.

That combination is NOT available. The closest you could get would be Chawton White with Ivory leather and Jet piping/carpet and Cherry trim. That would only be available on a Supercharged.
Giverny Green and Tonga Green are the only ways to get aspen piping/carpet.
The dealer that told you walnut was the only wood for normally aspirated is nuts.
Thanks.
1) Will the Range Rover be equipped with Jaguar's V-12 in 07or 08
2) Will Terrain & Dynamic Response systems make it to the Range Rover or would that cause revolt within the masses of off-road purist whom may believe such systems are sacrelige?
My motorola v710 Bluetooth works fine, but the functionality should be better--this is a software issue that will eventually get sorted out. Meanwhile I am considering buying a cheapy phone and a cradle just so I have a way to scroll through the phonebook from the steering wheel control, as well as having a phone that is always charged without plugging in extra wires.
Somehow in playing around, I have got it so that the car's systems speak to me in a British female voice, the navigation instructions are a British male, and it listens to my US English. It's like having maid and a butler. Cool. Drives wonderfully. I had a 2000 RR HSE before and the only complaint I have is that they reduced the travel of the air suspension; highway mode only kicks in at 100 mph, which I doubt I will ever see--there isn't even a display for it anymore. Also they eliminated the little slide holder behind the rear seat where the cargo cover used to stow--now you have to take it out of the vehicle and put it somewhere. Strange. Ergonomically much better overall, though. They should have put in the adaptive cruise control, like in my wife's Toyota van, though; and the sonar proximity warning should display somewhere, so you can see which corner is beeping..
Mine came with the Sirius radio in and working fine, though unless you subscribe all you get is advertisements, of course. The rear seat entertainment system works great too.
What can I say? I have lived in Southern California for 20 years and this is the first time I have looked forward to spending more time in the car....

I swear, is everyone related to Land Rover forced to take a course in misinformation and confusion?
Talk about it over in Range Rover Sport (2006+).

Good luck.
I am a potential 1st time LR owner. I have a chance to get a used 2002 Range Rover with around 27K miles on it. Black on Black. I don't put a ton of miles on a car each year, so I am looking to have a fun vehicle for my short commute.
Who manufactured the 2002 RR engine? Is it something that will be impossible to repair when problems occur?
I am also considering a 2004 Discovery SEII or possibly a 2005 LR3.
Does anyone urge me NOT to go for the 2002 RR? Any thoughts would help.
Thank you.
I saw your post. Did you get any replies?
How are you enjoying your 2002 RR HSE? I am also considering a 2002 RR as my first RR purchase. I am trying to decide if it's the wisest move.
What do you recommend?
Thanks.
They will let me have it for 46k. No paint work and drives ok.
This is in Florida BTW.
Any info would be great! Thanks!
Also, what does the 30k service entitle and how much $$ does it cost?
James
You can also do an Appraisal of that '03 from the Used Car tab on the main Edmunds.com page.
Steve, Host
That is why I asked everybody else what they bought their 03's for.
Thanks!
Meanwhile, you may want to ask the pros what they think it's worth over in the Real-World Trade-In Values discussion.
Steve, Host
What are the options on it and what are the colors.
The 30k service is covered under your schedualed matience program don't worry about it. Are you buying it from a land rover dealer or some where else?
I know my C6 Corvette feels and sounds (with all the rattles and creaking) old at only 10k miles.
What about building into one's offer a 4K deduction for the highly probable air suspension work? Then, throw out the entire system and replace with coils all around, four new , premium shocks, re-bush the front suspension and be set for life?
I really doubt there is anyway they would accept a 4000 dollar deduction for that. You would just be better off buying the extended warranty to 100K if you plan to keep the vehicle that long.
