Blazer split gate window latch

I have a 97 Blazer with the split tail gate. The window goes up, the gate comes down. The window latch quit working this weekend. I press the button to pop the window and I can hear the actuator motor turn but the window will not unlatch. I can't open the window or the gate at all. Can anyone help?

    I believe there is always an emergency hatch release method to get it open first of all. Try looking in the manual. Then I'd clean everything thoroughly. Might just be something sticking in there.

    I have a 02 2 dr Blazer and have the same problem. Only way I can get it open if there is someone to push the button on the inside and outside at the same time. I used to hear the lil motor when I pushed the outside button, but now I don't hear it.
