2004 Chevy Suburban and Performance Chips

I have a 2004 Suburban, AWD, 5.3 Flex Fuel eng and was wondering if anyone can expound on the credibility of performance chips to increase Fuel Mileage (i.e. do they work)?

And in many cases the performance chips will void your factory warranty.
