Wondering if anyone has had problem with cracked
leaf springs on the 1995 Toyota Tacoma, 4x4 6V
extended cab. I have driven 45,000 miles, no off
road driving and have not transported anything
heavy,(grocery shopping). One spring broken and the
other cracked. Also, would like to check if my
original firestone wilderness tires are being
recalled. Thanks

broken leaf springs are not caused by one application of overload but is the cyclic fatigue of the metal. (repeated load cycles great and small). It could be exasperated by worn shocks which allow bigger load cycles.

But it has happened to me, both leafs and coils and I kept new shocks and struts on my vehicles. So it is poor materials used (not properly heat treated).
