the 2008 Sante Fe limited, has a GPS/DVD player. But a DVD movie can only be viewed with the engine off. Is there any way to have the car running/driving and watch a movie?

Gosh, I hope not! Watching movies while driving is unwise to say the least.

I couldn't agree with you more; however, it doesn't make sense that my kids can't watch a movie while on a roadtrip. The car has to be off. Meaning no A/C. I don't get it.

Motor vehicle laws specifically require that mobile dvd players have the screen blanked while the car is running if it's in the driver's view. If you had a player with a remote screen for the second (or third) row, it would work in the back, but still not up front.

you are right; however, is there a way to override this just for the kids.

Do you have the rear seat DVD entertainment system or only the navigation system?
