the 2008 Sante Fe limited, has a GPS/DVD player. But a DVD movie can only be viewed with the engine off. Is there any way to have the car running/driving and watch a movie?

Gosh, I hope not! Watching movies while driving is unwise to say the least.

I couldn't agree with you more; however, it doesn't make sense that my kids can't watch a movie while on a roadtrip. The car has to be off. Meaning no A/C. I don't get it.
  • Motor vehicle laws specifically require that mobile dvd players have the screen blanked while the car is running if it's in the driver's view. If you had a player with a remote screen for the second (or third) row, it would work in the back, but still not up front.

you are right; however, is there a way to override this just for the kids.

Do you have the rear seat DVD entertainment system or only the navigation system?

no. But the nav. system has the option to play cd/mp3/DVD
