Are you a recent EV buyer (past 3 months) as a result of manufacturer incentives and dealer discounts on these vehicles, including year-end deals? Volvo 4 cylinder engine

I recently bought a used 740GL with a 4 cylinder
non-turbo engine. The engine blew up after 3000
miles. I am looking to replace this engine with
another one. Are all Volvo 4 cylinders the same
2.3 liter even in the 240 series? I have found a
used one on ebay. It is a 92 240 engine. Will
this work?

Shanku, your best bet is to direct this question to the owners over on the BrickBoard (www.brickboard.com). You will find many knowledgeable owners there including some who have had their cars long enough to need engine replacements.

    Good luck.

The non-turbo 2.3L 114hp straight six engine on the 240 is the same as the one on the 740.
