Mitsubishi Outlander cabin air filter

Does anyone know where the cabin air filter is, and can I change it or does a mechanic need to do it?

I have a 2004 Outlander so I'm sure yours will be the same. The cabin filter is directly behind the glove box. You can change it yourself, the trick is knowing how to move the glove box out of the way. On the left hand side of your glove box is a square plug that keeps the glove box from opening too far. You need to remove the plug by sliding it and then removing it. Then your glove box will open all the way down and out of your way. The cabin filter will be right in front of you. It is white and about 3 inches high by about 10 inches wide with screws on either end to hold it in place. Remove the screws and it will slide right out. It looks remarkably like the engine air filter. Hope this helps. All this info came from another forum sight and was provided to me by another helpful person. The internet is a wonderful thing.
