Ford Escape Oil Change Reminder

I put in semi-synthetic oil in my 2008 Escape last week, and now the dash board is displaying "5% oil life, change soon".

What did I do wrong and do I need to get another oil change already?

I dont own a new generation Escape like you, but do you think that you have to manually reset the oil life reminder on the dash?

You do have to re-set the display manually.

I thought so. Resetting on my previous vehicles (Hondas) has been as easy as holding down the odometer reset button then turning the ignition to ON (but do not start the car and keep holding the button) and in a few seconds it would reset. Maybe 08 Escapes are the same, doesn't hurt to try, unless of course someone knows the exact method.

i am sure the reset procedure is in the owner's manual.

It's a simple procedure. Once you bring up on the Display the "life of the oil." Press the "reset" button on the lower dash next to the "info" button and you will see 100% "life of the oil."

    Been there...done that!
