error code 1255 on 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis

my check engine lights keeps coming on and the car begins to hesitate when giving gas. Jiffy Lube says it is error code 1255 but doesnt know what that is. Anybody out there know what this code is about?

    Don't take my solemn word this is accurate, but my research indicates... Error Code 1255 - Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Supply Circuit Failure. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I can offer you more information.

    Thanks for the response. So how simple or complicated is this to resolve? just a part purchase or will this require a shop visit? Any idea of the cost>?

    Recently the front end of 99 Mercury Marquis has started squeaking very badly....anyone had this problem before ? I have tried spraying but doesn't seem to work.Thanks for your help...
