Have a 2005 Nissan Altima, 2.5 with 67K miles. Check engine light came on and engine would die when driving slow or idling. Found DTC PO335-Cam Position Sensor. Replaced the sensor and the code keep coming back. What gives? Anybody, please!

Hi There, I hope by now you've figured out the problem and it's now fixed. I had a similar issue today. I took it to the dealer. Turns out there was a recall in 2007 that I was never notified for. You may need to take it in and have the ECM reprogrammed. Hope this helps! See below:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE, THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CAN OVERHEAT CAUSING A BRIEF INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL OUTPUT FROM THE SENSOR.
    Defect Consequence:
IF THE INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL FROM THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS SO BRIEF THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) LOGIC DOES NOT HAVE TIME TO DIAGNOSE THE CONDITION, THE ENGINE MAY STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT A LOW SPEED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
    Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ECM FREE OF CHARGE. CERTAIN 2006 ALTIMAS WHICH HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY REMEDIED UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V223 (NISSAN R0606) ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL SINCE THE REPROGRAMMING FOR 06V223 ALSO INCLUDED THIS REPROGRAMMING. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Thanks for the response. Yes, it has been fixed at the dealer. I had replace the Cranshaft Position Sensor and it continued to do the same thing. We called the dealer and they said it would cost around $180 to fix it. I found the recall and gave her a copy to take to the dealer. The owner being a woman they told her they still had to replace the sensor because it was necessary to try several, baloney! Needless to say she was charged almost $200 for the fix. This appears to be a crooked hungry dealer because my brother-in-law took his Infiniti there for a oil change and was charged $100.00. Their explanation for the high charge, they used their special oil. He later took his car to the dealer where he normally get his car serviced and told them about it. They asked him for the receipt but he didn't have it. They told him that even if they had used synthetic oil, there was no way it could have been that much. And it was not synthetic oil. What do you make of that? Do you think there is any recourse for the almost $200 my woman friend was charged?
Do you think Nissan will respond to it? You thoughts please.

    Thanks,
    OMB
