98 Grand Voyager - Estimate for brake lines too high?

I have a 98 Plymouth Grand Voyager that a friend is giving to me. It has spongy breaks. His mechanic says "all four brake lines are rusted out" and need to be replaced. He says this will take him 3 or 4 days and will cost us about 1000-1400 which is about 75% labor. Does this sound high?

Very-VERY high. Get another estimate.

That said, while the rear brake lines are known to have an issue up by the firewall, I've never heard of the front brake lines needing to be replaced. A second opinion is definitely warranted.

Replacing front and rear rusted out leaking brake lines on a 98 Voyager with ABS seems to be a common problem actually 6 lines 2 from master cylinder and 4 lines to wheels going to ABS module rust out near SS braided sections. In process of doing one now ..... Good luck with that.
