Mazda CX-9 Leaving Light Switch ON

Our 09 CX 9 does not have Auto On Lights, but does have Auto Off
We miss that feature and my wife is forever forgetting to turn the lights on!
Doesn’t it make sense just to leave the light switch ON
The lights will turn off after car stops and turn back on after its restarted.
Am I missing something??

    I take it you have a Touring edition. Auto OFF is part of the Touring but not Auto ON. Auto ON will only occur if you leave your headlamp switch on the ON position, but then they will turn on every time you turn on your CX9 whether it is day or night. Only the Grand Touring has the AUTO ON/OFF that is light sensitive HID headlamps.
