edge, idles funny

I have a 2001 ford ranger edge, v6, rear wheel drive, with AC

My truck idles low when stopped, and then will die when I attempt to accelerate.

It is better when in neutral or park, but will often die if it isn't given some gas.

It has just over 100,000 miles on it and it has never had a true tune up.

Recently I flushed the radiator fluid, and it gets its oil changes on a regular basis.

The starter has been replaced in the last year but it does have a hard start every now and then, typically when it is on a downhill incline.

Any advice? What could it be? Air intake? Fuel filter? Other????

Thanks!
