Is it practical to convert a '98 Dodge Ram Sport 2x4 to a 4x4? What is involved? Cost?

I can't imagine it would cost you much less than if you traded your '98 for a 4X4.

    too much for me....why bother?

    add a transfer case....2 new drive shafts..new front axle..inside components...and a new suspension/springs/shocks....plus the electronis and hubs..

    buy it already done

Not only the mentioned stuff but also a tranny or at least a new input/output shaft and tailstock to bolt the transfer case up. Can't imagine there being $2000-$3000 difference in trade in. Way less than just the parts.
