Our lease is up and it looks like we will move to a 2012 forester. I notice that it has low profile tires. Anyone notice a harsher ride with these tires over previous models with "normal" tires?
That's for sure. I spent about $800 (after rebates!) on a new set for my '10 Forester a couple months ago.
I think the ride is firm, but, yes, compliant. I put 16" rims (from a previous gen Forester) on it with my winter tires, and I don't notice a change in the ride, though the winter tires do muffle the road noise bit more.

My only complaint is the tires cost a bunch more than before.
