'84 Ford Ranger Ignition Switch

The ignition switch on my ranger has gone bad. The contacts in the switch have shorted in the run position, causing after-run when I remove the key. I have removed everything else around the steering column in order to get to the switch, but I can't figure out how to get the switch off. It appears connected to another piece of metal that contains the key ring mechanical stuff. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be attached by screw or bolt. None of my manuals show this procedure. Has anyone else tried to replace this component? Thanks in advance for the help!

Are you trying to remove the lock assembly at the top of the steering column or the ignition switch itself, half way down the column on the top of it?

I am trying to remove the actual switch, about halfway down the column on the right side.
