This is my first post. How do I post pictures of my '97 Wrangler? I do not have a website, but I do have pics saved to my C drive. I don't see any choices for adding an Image on this message board.
Great lookin' jeep! Mine is scheduled to be delivered to the dealer next weekend...I can't wait. It looks like it will be very similar to Stephen's, with the exception of bodyside steps. I got the, 5-speed, 7-speaker sound system, CD, dual-top, 30" wheels and a few more options. I can't wait. I've already been looking around for accessories; especially a brush guard, I like the one from Manik, and maybe even a winch. But I'm getting way ahead of myself here. Anyway, if I haven't already said it, I can't wait... I hope to post some pics shortly after I get it. -JT
I actually like the looks of black horizontal guards that wrap around the entire rear light assembly better...sort of safari style.
Funny you should say that about the "set". I actually got the whole set but the pieces for the headlight & turnsignals were a piece of crap. The pieces didn't fit at all well and actually broke. I got foglight covers (guards) from KC but they aren't thick enough to go around the stock foglights. Oh well...
Was out yesterday testing the new Old Man Emu shocks and JKS sway bar quick disconnect. It wasn't the best weather up around 4000 ft, but hey, at least it wasn't dusty. Here's some pics:
Well Tom, the 33's did rub, while the sway bar was disconnected. At full compression straight ahead, they just touched the fender, not the flares. Turned either left or right, the tires would hit the fender and flares. An inch or two long bump stop would help that out. With the sway bar connected, no rub - until right at steering lock.
So, I don't know if I can recommend you getting the 33's or not. If you do get them, just be prepared to do a couple more mods to Thelma Jane
More pics:
Stuffed - straight ahead:
Rear 33" stuffed:
Rear 33" drooped almost all the way:

Front drooping, nice clean shock and SB Quick Release:
Tom, I installed the Performance Accessories' 2" body lift to alleviate the fender rubbing. It worked pretty well. Not too much of a body/bumper gap in the front either:
The front is totally compressed onto the stock bump stops. No rubbing until you crank the wheel all the way to the stops.
There's more room than it looks:
Lots of room over here!
Turned about half way, no rubbing:
Turned all the way, it just barely touches the flare:
Turned all the way, it touches the sway bar:
Anyway, good luck with your new tires, whether they're 33's or not, it's always fun in a Jeep!
Hi guys, I was wondering if there was any room on this board for a WJ owner? I just picked up my '04 Special Edition last month, and I guess I am still in the "honeymoon" phase of ownership. By the way, I love all the pics of Jeeps doing what they were meant to do - offroading!
Thanks. Sometimes it seems like they are private trails There are days when I've driven around for 6+ hours before seeing another vehicle. It's usually pretty empty mid-week, except for the occasional USFS employee, in the Gifford-Pinchot Nat'l Forest in southern Washington state. Those last pictures were from one of my favorite spots, Red Mtn fire lookout, from which (on a clear day) you can see all our big mountains Mt Adams, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens and Mt Hood from one spot.
I spent the long 4th of July weekend along the Oregon Coast at Sand Lake ORV Park. What a blast! For those fellow Jeepers in the NW, this place is worth the drive. See their web page at: http://www.sandlakeoregon.com/
You have to get an OR ATV tag ($10, good for 2 yrs) and have a flag ($8) then let some air out of your tires (I used 15 psi, but some Jeepers were using 10 psi) and have fun! It's a big park with all different difficulty levels. It's got lots of camping space and is interconnected with a large coastal beach area.
Here's a picture from the top of one of the bigger sand dunes(read-mountain) looking over the camping area and out to the Pacific Ocean. Got Sand? -Pete
Well, I was back to Red Mtn Lookout, this time at night. We've got a pretty bright full moon going on, so I thought I'd check out the view at night. The moon was so bright I didn't need a flashlight Of course, it made it tough to get any good Jeep pics.
These are from about 1am this morning, the moon lit up Mt. Adams pretty well.
Then, just as I was ready to pack up and head for home, I saw a little Aurora Borealis happening around the mountain. I wish I didn't have to be home for work in the morning! Keep on Jeepin' -Pete
For those of us unfortunate to be on dial up connections, could the photo gallery somehow be changed for shorter pages, so that there are not so many photos that need to load at one time?
I don't mind waiting for the pics, but a lot of them just show the old "red X," and I think that's because so many have to load at once.
Well, I was out enjoying the nice hot weather with the Jeep. Here's a pic from a little 5000 ft mountain that has a great mountain view. This is Mt. Adams with all her snow pretty much gone, just glaciers left.

Found a couple of waterfalls in the area, they were a welcome oasis from the heat. This one is Langfield Falls:
I always love visitors while I'm shooting, this guy dropped in to see what I was doing:
Here's another waterfall, this one is much bigger, about 325ft high total, made up of three tiers. Here's the middle tier of Falls Creek Falls:
Here's Mt. Hood as the sun was setting, albeit hazy through my zoom:
Night time, finally starting to cool down, here's a longer exposure looking towards Mt. Rainier, those are star trails in the sky from the rotation of the Earth:
i personally would like to thank the wrangler owner at the top of the screen for buying jks disconnects and actually using them properly. My father owns and operates jks and i work for him there, we get so many complaints about how they break because people dont use them right, thank you for setting a good example and reading the instructions. -ajjjjjjjjjj
Hi guys, I haven't been on the message board in a couple months, been too busy. I still get out in my Wrangler, here's a pic from last weekend. I'm parked on top of Gumboot Mtn (~4100ft) and that's Mt. Hood (~11200+ ft) in the background.
Those photos are gorgeous! I'm especially fond of the first one - DCX should purchase it from you and use it in their marketing materials!
As Karen said, thanks for sharing (and thanks, Karen, for alerting us to these great pics)

Didn't make it around this hairpin, had to do a little shuffle to get pointed back the right way.
Made it to the end of the road, about 6000 ft elevation here.

Why temporary? It looks like it's meant to be.
Should get a set for the headlights and fogs to complete the look.
Hee hee... trunk monkey looks very much at home back there

Just wondered.

You also know how to compose a nice photo! Great job, Pete.
Tom
Have you hugged your Jeep today?
Yes, the NW has some great scenery, and a Jeep will definitely help you get to some of these remote places.
-Pete
I just thought maybe the page breaks could be reduced or something, so that not so many pics would have to load at one time.
Thanks anyway, Karen.
