Securilock Problem and Reprogramming
This is my first post on this forum. I recently bought a 2002 Lincoln LS V6, but after a few weeks the car happens to not recognize the Securilock Key. Whenever I try to ignite the car, the red light flashes rapidly and won't let me start. This have happened sometimes and sometimes doesn't.
So after some days of troubles, I have decided to visit the ford dealer shop, and asked for the service. I got a call from the repairman and what he said was he reprogrammed the key, and now it works. He may try it again on Monday let me know if he think it really has been fixed.
But, I'm somewhat suspicious about the fix he did. I though the problem might lie somewhere in the car detecting the key, because two of my programmed keys didn't work, and I think it is very unlikely the two keys got damaged or something at the very same time. Or did he mean that he reprogrammed the keys, plus the car???
Can anyone tell me if reprogramming the keys could be a fix to this problem? I'm very afraid this issue may arise again even after paying $204, $102 for diagnosis and $102 for reprogramming.
Any thoughts?
