Witch one of the fuel pump's are you talking about? They have two of them one called the fuel pump and the other one called the jet pump. I was having the same type of issues. the car would run great for a few days then it wouldn't start turn out my fuel pump was starting to go out and it kept blowing my fuel pump fuse. I Replace the motor for the pump that I got from AutoZone with a lifetime warranty and haven't had a problem ever since.
