front wheel/axle rubber baloon
Inside each front wheel of my 2000 Trooper there are rubber "balloons" which appear they should hold grease; inside each is a bearing of some kind. Most of the grease is gone. I can see inside because the rubber is cracked completely around, pushing it open reveals what's inside. A mechanic told me I needed to replace the rubber balloons for $1200. Any thoughts?
