05 v8 Lincoln LS over/heating

Just had the Upper radiator hose replaced & thermostat & water outlet. My mechanic now thinks its a head gasket problem. When I drive it the temp gauge stays mid level then after a while will start going up.

Coolant isn't staying in the resivor tank but it's not on the ground either. The car only has 65K. If it was a head gasket isn't the temp gauge suppose to shoot up right away?

I had a head gasket problem with my other lincoln I had 10 years ago. I will never by another one again.

It's probably the overflow bottle if you haven't replaced it yet. It cracks and leaks with no visible evidence.
