Check Engine Light P0770 - Smog Check

A couple of months ago, my check engine light went on with the code p0770. My friend used his OBD reader and turned it off. Since then, it hasn't turned back on for over 300 miles. My car is due for smog check soon and I was just wondering if I would fail the inspection. Oh yeah, I live in California. Thanks!

@circuitsmith, Yeah, I know. He didn't fix anything. He just turned off the code. My car is just slow at accelerating; I don't think it's releasing emissions though. Would I fail the California Smog test for a 'E' Solenoid (transmission related) problem?
