My 1997 Buick LeSabre with 33,500 miles on it has started to lose a small amount of coolant at the intake manifold on the engine. The dealership says the upper half of the intake manifold needs to be replaced. Buick will not help at all with repair since warranty is over. Approx. cost is 850.00. Anyone have similar problem and did you get any assistance from factory. Any harm in not doing this repair soon?

I have heard from my mechanic that the extended life antifreeze that is in the newer cars causes the gaskets to wear out early. He recommends changing back to standard antifreeze.
