Hi all... I've been following this forum for the last couple of months and had decided on getting a 2012 Honda Civic EX. I was finally ready to take the plunge on the purchase of this car as I had the funds to make the down payment after selling my car. Here's the break down on the total purchase:
I am looking for a new HONDA Civic LX in Fort Lauderdale , FLorida .What's the best price for Civic LX in Lauderdale.I am able to find deals for final price of 19.5 K , any suggestions , please assit me.
I'm still in the process of negotiation. Wondering if this is a reasonable price for a 2012 civic LX auto without any other options. The OTD should be 18800, given 7.75% tax rate. How is the price?
The dealer charged 799 for the protection package. But I think its not worth more than 500. Try negotiating with the dealer to bring down the sale price of the car a little more and include protection package so the OTD is still18800
hi, i live in north virginia, the lowest quote i got is $17500 including a lifetime powertrain warranty. is it good? I asked for 17200 but it seems most of the dealers do not want to lower the price. any suggestions?
You can get a Civic for 15,600 in Silver Spring MD, just jump on the beltine and you're there. You'll pay 15,600 for the car and the associated fees (processing, titles/tags) which will bring you up to around 17,300 OTD.
really? I got 17399, 0 down payment, 0.9% apr 60 months. going to this dealer now. silver spring is a little further than this dealer. idk. i got really tired..
How much will be the good deal? I heard it is clearance period these days. So, I could get it a lot cheaper than before. Could you guys tell me how much will I consider to pay for Civic LX 2012?
I am also from NC near Raleigh Area and would like to know what is the lowest rate you got? I do not mind coming over to Charlotte or VA or SC to get a good price. The lowest i got was 18514 which is the OOD price in NC. Your guidance is highly appreciated. Would you mind sharing the dealer name with whom you got the lowest price?
I just bought a Honda Civic LX (silver color) from a dealer in NY.
Price: $17,500 Sales Tax: $1,553.13 NY Inspection Fee: $10.00 Motor Vehicle Fee: $235.00 Dealer Processing Fee: $97.50
OTD Total: $19,385.63
Not the lowest, but dealer is in NY. I think NJ could be cheaper, but would take more time for research and finding a car before all the 2012 inventory is gone.
This information is a bit dated, but... We have a 2008 Civic and a 2012 Pilot, both of which were purchased new. In both cases, Rusty Wallis Honda had the lowest initial quote out of 8-10 DFW area Honda dealerships. We purchased the Civic from them. We purchased the Pilot from Huggins Honda after they matched the quote from Rusty Wallis.

Dch promised in e-mail to sell me a 2012 HF for $18,100. They had seller's remorse but couldn't back out. I refused all add ons. My FICO is above 800. They wrote contract, said I'd been approved. I took possession the next day. On day 10 they mailed me a letter demanding the car back saying I'd been disapproved for the financing. I demanded to know why--still waiting and tomorrow it will have been 2 weeks since I requested--and said I'd be sending the payoff. I went to my pre-approved lender and they sent the check to Dch. Suddenly I got a call from the finance man and his supervisor. Did I want to take their financing as I'd been approved. What, they thought I'd break a contract with my credit union the way they break contracts? They said they'd have to "null" the contract as written. So far no new contract or call to sign anything. As of last week they still hadn't cashed the check. But American Honda says their records show me as the owner.
DCH can't be trusted. Do not buy cars from them unless you have full cash up front and it's under full warranty. (I've seen too many reviews about problems post sale).
Curious about your lifetime powertrain which I assume is held by a 3rd party insurance company. I was told by a competing dealer that it would be okay if you stayed local; however many dealers outside the area's dealership may not honor the warranty. Does anyone know anything about this?
The lifetime powertrain warranties I've looked into were dealer-specific. In other words, you'd have to return to that dealership to make a claim. The warranty wouldn't be honored by other dealerships. (I'm near Dallas, if that makes any difference.)
Went with my brother and picked up a new civc LX black. no add ons for 16824 plus fees and tax. seemed to be a pretty good deal. not sure out the door price, but it was a decent deal i feel and didnt hav eto haggle at all basically called and spoke to Van the internet sale fleet manager and gave me the bottom line, came in car was clean and ready and was in and out in 30 minutes. great to deal with. It was at scott robinson honda torrnace. would recomend them if your in the market.
I realize this is a new car prices paid topic, but the car I helped my Dad purchase was a 2012 with 3500 miles and 30-months left on the new car warranty, which is pretty close to new. Doing a lot of research on spanking new EX's in Minnesota, we came to the conclusion that a new one would have very likely been about $18,750 incl destination.
This car was one the dealer had owned since new and had used as a loaner vehicle and then moved to their used car lot. The "sticker" on the used car lot had it at $18,999, which was ridiculous, since a new one could be had for about that or less. We offered $17K. First got countered at $17.5, then $17.2 and finally, when we said we would think about it over lunch, they came down to our offer of $17k even. There might have been a bit more available, but I do not think there was much meat left on the bone.
Buying a used car also saved about $250 on the licensing fee in Minnesota and the tax on the $2k difference would have also been $140, so the OTD difference betwwen this "used" Civic EX and a new one is likely around $2000, which I felt was a nice discount for 3500 miles and 6-months of lost warranty.
Hi, I got my EX for $18,435 and I live in NYC so my OTD price is about $200 more. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Hopefully, this helps out folks who are planning to get their EX.
I was wondering if any one around Norther VA have bought a 2012 Civic LX or EX in near past. I was wondering what was the price paid and which dealer. I am in the market for a Civic and would like to know what the current prices look like.
Honda Civic LX 2012 Out the door $17,895.00 (not including the remote start and the extended warranty. Originally I started at $19,900...yeah me!!! I ended up doing the extended warranty because I felt I was getting a good deal on that as well. $599.00 Price started at $1,395.00!!! I also felt like spoiling myself a bit and went with the Honda Remote Start for $511.00 Originally they were asking $730.00!!! All in all I think I did well. Took a lot of research and there are some Honda Sales people out there that do not like me very much, but I am HAPPY :-) Woohooooo so far I am getting 36.6 MPG
Nice deal. Did they change the FOB size for the remote start? I got the remote start with my 2010 but I never used it cause I didn't want to carry around such a big FOB. Enjoy!!!
We purchased our 2012 Civic EX in Silver Spring Maryland last week for $18,200 including freight and dealer fees. With DC tax/tag/title it came to $19474 OTD. We found Maryland dealerships to be a little more competitive with lower dealer processing fees so it may be worth a drive unless you can get the VA guys to work with you.
OTD in eastern NC $17,500 at 0.9% with Honda Financing. Must be trying to move last yrs models quickly. Many people seem to have gloomy outlook for US economy!!!!!! Deals may get even better near month end but selection may be limited.
I bought the car on 11/10/2012 for OTD: 17,773. Here is the break down: Vehicle Price: 16,250 (Included destination fee) PA Tax (8%): 1,300 Tag: 222.95
So far love the car, good handling, nice interior(don't know why people hate it so much). By the way I test drove a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, got to say, even though it is my 1st time buying a new car, I can tell the performance of Honda civic is way better than Elantra, but I have to admit Elantra offers more feature than the Civic (GLS vs LX). Still if I have to choose between them, I could go for Civic, since Hyundai offered me 19,250 OTD for a Elantra GLS, which I could get the Civic Ex model with extra bonus; "the sunroof".
One thing I am having trouble with the Civic is the MPG. The sticker says it can go up to 28MPG in city drive, but I only get like 17 -19 MPG on the first week of driving. I found it is more of my driving habit and the cold weather. I change my driving habit and now getting 21-23 MPG, Hope it can get better during summer.

Which dealer gave you price of $16,250? I'm in Delaware, close to PA. Was it an LX 4 door automatic transmission? Any pricing information from area dealers would be much appreciated!
I am looking for an '12 EX with manual transmission, no luck so far in SoCal (only Si with manual). If you are not far (NorCal, NV, AR) and come across one please holler. Thanks.

How is the price?
If $20,200 is the price of OTD, that is very good. Could you share the dealer and sales's information with me? I may get a EX later.
Thanks,
Eric
