1000+ miles Road trips, 5 days total, my Own 07 VW Jetta or Rental?

Mostly highway, stop by some major cities. I'm wondering is it better to drive my own 07 Jetta which has only 70K miles now, or go for rental cars? I searched online, the best rental deal I can get right now is about $40+ per day. Thanks guys!
