"BMW’s laser headlight system, which debuted on the i8 Concept at the Frankfurt show last month, uses not one, but three blue lasers per headlight for a total of twelve on your standard four headlight BMW.

BMW also... show[ed] off its new Dynamic LightSpot system, which in essence is a spotlight on the front of the car that illuminates pedestrians in your path."

    Good luck on the dopey DOT allowing that in Murica.

    The NHTSA might overrule them - pedestrian deaths are up last I heard.

    It'd be interesting to have laser lights to zap pedestrians/cyclists/hybrids that jump into the flow of traffic ;)
    The USA has long been behind the time in lighting tech, however. I'll believe it when I see it, probably in Europe much sooner (as was the case with flush lights and HIDs)
