1998 Land Rover Discovery automatic transmission trouble

I have a 1998 discovery with 150,000 miles on it was driving to the gas station the other morning and it started bucking a little no more than a quarter mile.When i started it up after putting gas in it,it wuold not go into any of the gears. if any one has any idea what it could be short of replacing the tranny it would be greately appreciated
