Cranks, won't start 2007 Buick Rendezvous

Car cranks just won't catch and start. Happened twice, eventually started and ran fine for about a week before happened again. Have seen a few suggestions from bad alternator, doesn't make sense to me, hall effect and a few others. Anyone else have this issue and should I worry that this is the start of a money draining search for a fix

    Could be any number of things. Is this a cold start thing (as in it has been sitting a longtine without running) or hot start (shut off for 5 mins and attempted to be restarted when failure occurs)?> @johrn said:
