2001 GMC Sonoma 4.3 liter 4wd auto transmission shifting
My 2001 gmc Sonoma sifts into 1 and 2 fine but won't go into third it will go into reverse if you try to put it in 3rd manually it acts like it is in neutral any ideas?

It is most likely your clutches for 3rd and 4th gear. The transmission will need to be removed, and clutches re-done. You will most likely find them burnt up. This problem rarely has to do with the valve body or shift solenoids.
