VW Passat timing belt replacement

Hello, I could really use some good advice here. I've just replaced the timing belt in my 2003 VW passat wagon. While aligning both left and right camshafts to fit the camshaft alignment tool, I turned the left camshaft less than 10 degrees clockwise by itself. The repair manual said it's ok to turn the camshaft by itself just a few degrees to properly fit the camshaft alignment tool.
Now that the new belt is installed, when I turn the crankshaft clockwise, I'm hearing a faint pop sound from the left camshaft.
Is this faint pop sound a bad sign?
Can someone please let me know how bad this is before I try starting the car? Also, please do let me know if I'm just freaking out on something that's not a problem.
Thank you so much in advance.
