Transmission problems

Hi
Own a Subaru 2012. Less than 2 years old. Highway miles. Just past the warranty of 60,000 miles we need to replace the transmission. Anyone else have problems? Is there a recall? We had children in the car when the transmission went out. We have been as vocal as we can to friends and family to stay away from this car.
