05 Uplander remote start issue

I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander with factory remote start. When I try to use it the alarm sounds the horn. I've taken it to a Chevy dealer recently and they told me that both remote key fobs are sending out an alarm signal and have to be replaced. I find this hard to believe as We primarily use one remote and the other is a spare. I find it hard to see both remotes being bad and having the same problem. I feel the problem is in the vehicle itself. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yes, I have. I changed the hood latch with a sensor in it, which I thought was the problem. Still horn honks when I press remote start.
