Disabled Passlock Mystery
Two years ago I disabled, using the "Preferred Method," the PL on my 04 Grand AM. No more Security Light, no more starting issues- until yesterday. Lights and dashboard (including Security) lite up fine, but nothing going to the starter. Headlights don't dim. Since it has been way below 0 recently, I suspected a battery issue but same result with a jump. Suddenly the Security light starts blinking, I wait 10 minutes and it starts. Starts and runs normally today. Security goes out at engine start. Is this possible after cutting the yellow wire, etc.,? Is Passlock regenerating itself? I still suspect the -20 temps and/or a battery issue. Thanks.
