Engine power reduce light

Today while driving, on the e-way the engine power reduce light comes on. Brings me to a complete stop, and than cut off. WHY AM I HAVING THIS ISSUE PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN? At the dealer now, and they are saying," this happens when there is a whether change"!
