I finally purchased MDX Advance + Entertainment at Precision Acura of Princeton $52,350 + Tax + Registration + Tire Fee ($7.50) + NJ Supp. Fee (0.4%) + Doc Fee ($289)

I also added accessories Adv. Running Boards, Body Side Molding, Cross Bars, Splash Guards, All Weather Mats (1st, 2nd and 3rd row), Tri-fold cargo tray, Moon Roof Visor and Wheel Locks at $1500.

Thank you very much for all your inputs without which I wouldn't have got this price. Please let me know your thoughts if I got a great price.

I had a great experience with Precision Acura and there were no surprises at the last minute. I would definitely recommend them

Is that for SH-AWD MDX? If so that is great price! Could you send me sales reps name & their email address?

    Thank you.

I am in dallas, planning to buy MDX SH-AWD-technology package, in a month. Any one from dallas to buy together for a group discount.

Rule of thumb for new car, OTD price = $MSRP - $1000 , if MSRP is $43K , you have a good deal if you can get $42K OTD or lower. (tax / tag included)

Hi Guys. I am looking to buy the AWD MDX with the advanced pkg in MA. Any suggestions on which dealerships offer good deals?

    How much is a good deal? $1000 below MSRP(OTD) works out to $52,600 for the car(factoring in 6.25%Tax, 895 destination, 300 documentation, 829 DMV fees, 475regional adj). This is $500 below invoice($53,090), $2680 below Edmunds' TMV($55,234) & $1700 below Truecar price($54,280).

Is this achievable in MA? What was the deal you got?

Hi Guys- I bought the Acura Mdx with Technology and Entertainment package from Acura of Denville Yesterday. Thanks to people in the forum for helping me get a good price. I paid 47284(with destination)+Accessories(1909)+Tax(6.35% - CT), Registration/Title (385) and Documentary fee(299). OTD price is 53K even. Thanks once again

    Congrats!

@vik_kid, did you buy yet? You can check Dealer Reviews here, but people usually focus more on how they were treated instead of how good of a deal they got.

  • rqirqi Member Posts: 2

Did you add any accessories on this car, like roof rails etc.? Thanks

@Stever@Edmunds - Why would you say that? Almost every post here talks about prices paid and giving thanks to the forum for getting a good price...
In fact my calculations were based on the post from 'hondaman82'.

Sorry, poorly worded, I meant on the Dealer Reviews link "here" at Edmunds, the focus is often more on the dealer experience, not on price like it is in the forums.

Guys, my nearby dealer has a 2014 tech AWD with 2000 miles on it, it comes with running boards and front and rear bump protectors, selling for $44000, is this a good price?

Thank you so much for your opinions in advance.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454

TMV for a new SH-AWD w/Technology Package, 3.5L V6 AWD is $46,926, so you're in the ballpark for sure.

    Value of a Demo Vehicle

Figure a deduction of at least $400 for those miles. Not sure what running boards are worth. Don't see any incentives in my area.

Bought a MDX advance awd under invoice on 4/30 in Chicago. They were at 53290 with destination. Got it for 53500 with 2nd row cover, cargo cover and cargo hinge mat. Over $700 in extras.

Just purchased a 2014 MDX SH-AWD Tech package in the Los Angeles area.

    MSRP = $49,460

    Price = $44,400
    Doc Fees = $80
Tax = $3336 (Ventura County per my residence, though the dealer is in LA County)
    Lic/Reg = $418.25
    OTD = $48234.25

No trade-in involved. Dealer offered 0.9% financing. Other than a long wait while paperwork was being completed, a very smooth buying experience.

Yes. That price was for SH-AWD. In fact Precision Acura offered little better price than listed but shipping fee + higher doc fee still ruined the deal. We went local and got SH-AWD Advance w/ All Season Mats for all 3 rows for $53,400. They are also installing LED Fog, Heated Steering & Front Sports Bumper Trim at cost.

    buddyc1,

The dealer was in Calabasas. Salesman was Michael S [non-permissible content removed].

    No last names please. B)

About those long waits, it's hard to avoid them because of all the reporting dealers have to do. But you can "buy" the car and then have it delivered or pick it up the next day when everything is ready to be signed.

    What was your OTD price?

  • buddyc1buddyc1 Member Posts: 4

I don't have paperwork in front of me but it was $44,352 plus about $160 in misc fees such as document, smog, etc and then tax and license fees.

Great deal ! Did you pay cash or financed it? If financed, what was the APR you got? Did you get any dealer accessories?

Since we are seeing pricing below invoice, are the 2015's on the way?

  • ppnffppnff Member Posts: 65

Anyone know the 2015 features or is it simply new colors?

  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454

The 2015 MDX is a "carryover" model so any changes should be relatively modest.

There are many who will be waiting for the 2015 model. I am waiting too. I am not going to buy the older model when the new model is around the corner. I will take even the most minor changes in the 2015 model, in particular the hope that Blue tooth SMS Connectivity may have moved from extinct blackberry phones to the newer Android and iOs phones.

for all those waiting for 2015. The model is releasing on Tuesday. Acura are sure sneaking this model. I expect changes in voice recognition and car play. The MSRP has gone up a few hundreds.

    2015 MSRP of $42,565.
    2014 MSRP of $42,290/

so with the 2015's right around the corner is now the time to buy the 2014? Will I get a better price. I think I may just buy the base model with FWD. I really like the tech package, especially the wheels, but its hard to justify the extra $4000.00.

So who has numbers to share on a BASE with FWD? Is there any dealer cash or rebates?

  • e574e574 Member Posts: 1

We are about to purchase a 2014 MDX with Advanced Package in NJ. Could you please share any prices paid? The best we have received is $52,691 plus tax. Thanks in advance!

In theory that's a good plan. The trick is that some dealers don't know or agree with the theory, lol. And as the new MDXs start rolling off the line, your choices get fewer. But you may luck out with a 2014 base. Sure worth a shot.

The only incentives I see for a random zip code are low finance rates and leasing incentives.

Funny, I don't care much about wheels but tech makes my ears prick up. While I'm spending your money, you may want to try for the tech package tied to a blow out price and enjoy yourself. Wouldn't hurt to ask for some quotes and start keeping tabs on local inventory.

  • andremikeandremike Member Posts: 67
The wheels are the only reason I like the tech.. but I cant justify 4000.00 extra for the tech package..

The prices I am seeing right now are about $500 under invoice..

Hi All, In Northern NJ I got this: Sale price New 2014 Acura MDX AWD Base $41,912.00
    NJ sales tax 7% 2,933.84
    NJ tire tax 7.50
NJ motor vehicle reg fee 401.00
    Documentary fee 369.00

    Total $45,623.34

However, do you think it is possible to get the OTD lower than $44k? If judging by rule of thumb that OTD should be MSRP - 1000 at least?

    Thanks!

My first impressions of the Acura compared to our last purchase of a Lexus RDX in November 2012. The Acura lacks the luxury finesse and quality control that exists in the Lexus. As one who has worked in the automotive industry, I may be a bit more sharper in catching manufacturing defects. Two defects that I noted right on the first day were:

On coming home, I found spots of white body paint on the outside of the headlamp cover. Wow!
At the dealer while taking delivery, I asked by chance if I could try out the entertainment system. When I went to the back seat, I could not operate it. Turns out that the cover was missing and none of the controls were working. It was noted and a new piece was ordered and I might have to take my vehicle in for a replacement. It has been less than a few hours since I took delivery, but I was surprised at the lack of quality control at Acura. I have owned several high quality Honda's before, and I think Acura is dragging the Honda name down. I was under the impression that Acura, like the Lexus would be a notch higher than their base brand. I am hoping I will not find any more issues going ahead. Not when you pay $50k plus for a "luxury" vehicle.

Hi all, if we wanna buy MDX or RDX (between now and maybe Sep), in term of price, which year's model should we get better deal? and, when should we make a deal?
    thanks!!!

  • upnorth85upnorth85 Member Posts: 12

If it is MDX, I would say buy now. There is no change in the 2015 MDX over the 2014. Yet the 2014 is now discounted around 8%. The 2015 quotes are around 2%. I too had no need to buy until fall, but bought because most people are now waiting for the 2015 model so there is a buying opportunity in the 2014 MDX.

MDX 2014 and Acura TL 2014 are your best deals. TLs are harder to find as a new body change in coming. The MDX hop on. Yes there is a new gen 2015 mdx coming. I can guarantee you 100% there is zero difference in the models. I wish I could disclose more given my profession. Stay away from Trucare and use edmunds.com TMV to try to negotiate your tot cap cost ( sale price as a guide). Lots of variable. Edmunds is awesome. They have free call in support. Call them and they will walk you. Through every step, and help you calculate via lease or buy. # on site. There are no numbers on the 2015.

    Thanks,
