You have to remove the plastic parts from around the instrument cluster, lower the steering wheel, remove the screws that hold the cluster to the dashboard, and disconnect the electrical connection. What are your views regarding the odometer reading? If it is not a great concern to you and your state inspection program does not arrest you for having a revised lower reading odometer (a higher reading one does not present the same problem), you can get a used one cheap. If you want a new one to read the same as your old one then you have to get one from a dealer.
