Transmission Shifter
The round ring (grommet?) that holds the cable on broke on my daughter's 2001 Ford Escape. My husband and his friend were able to get it back on (through the advice of another posting) using a 5/16th e clip but even after getting it fixed, the gear shift is free (as though it's not hooked to anything) and not shifting into gears. Any advice on what may be causing this?
