Any problems with manufacturer's warranty after installing aftermarket remote starter ?
I am having a Vyper remote starter installed ion our 2013 CR-V. There is a disclaimer by Honda that this may void the warranty. From discussions with others the Honda remote is unsatisfactory. I am having a reputable after market dealer install it. Any experiences to share?

This Edmunds Answers thread is about lift-kits but the idea is mostly the same.
I don't trust them myself, especially the aftermarket ones.
I am not a fan of aftermarket alarms or remote starters.
The quality of the installer is the most important thing. I don't like the idea or someone cutting into my wiring and splicing something in...BUT, if a good job is done it shouldn't pose a problem.
As far as voiding the warranty, I suppose if something electrical burns out because of the aftermarket remote starter, then, of course, it's not Honda's fault.
If the water pump starts to leak under warranty. that would be unrelated to the installation of the remote starter.
You might want to verify what I said with your local Honda Service Department. They are the experts, not me.
