Bought a 2014 SX-T a very short time ago, as a matter of fact the first one to hit the dealership a week or so back and the only one they had. I've been waiting for this version to come out since I heard of it being designed by a European engineer that had designed for MB and Audi before. Saw it, test drove it and brought it home, that simple. Could not leave it there all alone. Even if you have a 2013 Optima as I did you will have to drive this version to feel and see the difference. If you can find one take a look. I didn't want an SXL, this is what I wanted and has in it exactly what I wanted. I don't need to say more just go drive one it sells itself. This thing has a lot more jump and handles like a dream, smoother ride and much less road noise. To early to tell on the MPG but so far seems like it will be very close to the 2.4. I test drove cars with sticker prices starting at over $40,000. and were not as nice as this. You check it out.

Hey I have a question about the price on buying my first car. Do you think if I wait until September, I can get the 2014 Optima EX, with white paint and with the premium package for $25,000 OTD price?

    johnmewto,
It's hard to say what the prices will do by then but the best way to go about it is to find the car you want and let them give you an OTD price. If you don't like it just out right tell them what you are willing to give as a bottom line price. This is it I won't spend a penny more and if they act like they can't do it say thank you and turn around and walk off. You go to another dealer you will buy it at your price but do your homework and be sensible with the offer. Have a top price in mind and stick to it. Good luck, and don't let them sell you a car, you buy it.

Hey thanks for the help, I have done my homework and it seems like it should go for like 27k or a little more even. I was just hoping like at the end of August maybe they are more desperate in selling these cars? It is my first time and I don't have much experience so I was just wondering how much below invoice dealers would go. I don't want to go around a lot of dealers saying my price and it being too low that I waste my time you know. Thanks for the help again!

hey @lovemycar , I was rethinking it and I am leaning towards the SX-T more now. I was wondering how much you paid for it OTD when you got it and with what options. thanks!

I'll be happy to tell you. This car doesn't have the rear camera or the navigation and I really didn't want to have to pay for something I don't want or need anyway so that good. It has about everything else that comes with the SX-T. After all the rebates such as loyalty bonus and dealer discount plus an added discount because I get all the service work done there a price was set. I asked for several things to be thrown in and they were. I was given $16,000. for my 2013 and gave them the balance including all the tax, title and license fees of $11,800. and I drove it off.
This car is ebony black so I also got in the deal a 5 year extra protection plan for the paint.
