Should I have additional brake lights in the tailgate?
My wife took her car to get an oil change recently and they told her that her brake lights were out. I told her not to let them do anything and I would get a replacement and do it myself.
I opened up one of the side panels in the tailgate and found two bulbs. One lights when I switch on the headlights and the other does nothing, even when I hit the brakes. I changed the second bulb and got the same result, nothing. My neighbor's car appears to be the same, only the side lights are lit when the brakes are applied.
