I am having issues with starting my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue (46,000 miles)

Recently I had gotten a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue that only has 46,000 Miles on it. I know it was rarely ever driven when i received it, but when i got it a week ago, i noticed it has been having an issue with starting up. It takes about 3 -4 times for me to try to start it before it turns over and revs really high then i get this strong smell of gas. I hear the fuel pump working, and there is nothing really wrong with the car other then the starting up issue, i read that it happens to these cars frequently, i had all the fluids changed and filters changed. I thought it may be the fuel pump or the pressure shortage, can anyone help with my issue and give me advice on what to check or fix to solve these issues ? thank you
