Refund on Xzilion interior protection?
Just got my new Toyota last night. While I was with the finance guy, agreed to get the Xzilion interior protection for $500, and it was included in my financing. I am supposed to schedule an appointment to take my car back to dealer and have it applied, supposed to take like six hours.
Well now I don't want the Xzilion anymore. While it looks impressive and that it does protect the interior. I got a black interior this time, so even if I do spill something, I doubt it will really show or do damage. I want to get refund for the $500 I paid, or have it reduced from what I own on the car. I would assume that the dealer would be fine about this, but just want to make sure it is something I can get refunded. Just in case the dealer tries to pull something like saying it can't be refunded since I already paid for it.
Thanks.

Well, this will probably depend on the dealership you're working with. I think expecting them to be "just fine" about it might be a bit of a lofty goal, because all of those aftermarket products they sell to you, usually in the finance office, are big profit items. So, I'd go into it nicely and just tell them you decided you don't want it, and see what they say. Be prepared to be "re-sold" on it, though - they'll probably tell you about all of the benefits you're giving up, and make you feel like you are neglecting your "investment". It's just so hard to predict how a dealership will react - I've seen some stories where it is, indeed, a no-problem-that's-fine resolution, and others that don't go well at all. I am hoping you're dealing with a dealership with long-term vision who sees that making you a happy customer now will make you more likely to be a return customer.
