2011 ford focus drivers door ajar message on.

Hello, I've been having an issue with my 2011 Ford Focus, after an oil change the cars messaging system stated "drivers door ajar" this happens randomly, it even will switch back to normal while I'm driving. The car also has random times when its safety lights will come on without anybody being in the car or it running (when it happened recently I told my sister the car was haunted). Does anyone know what is the cause of this? Could the oil change have caused it? Although a follow up oil change did not fix it. Is this a repair I could do at home? From what I've been reading it looks like a fairly common problem. My car is not under warranty anymore. It is really a pain in the neck as I get paid by mileage and the message won't let me see the odometer. Thanks for any help.

First place I would look are the door ajar switches. Might simply be that the door latches are gunked up and the switches are sticking and some WD-40 might be an easy fix.

Lots of videos online about this. here's an example
