Deactivating 2011 Grand Marquis daylight running lamps (DRL)

To activate daylight running lamps, owner's manual says: 1. the key must be in the ON position; 2. the headlamp control is in the OFF or Parking lamps position; and 3. the vehicle is not in Park.

It doesn't say how to deactivate them. Can someone tell me how to do this. Thanks.

OK...I have no idea if this is even possible but the question begs....WHY?
