How to remove the drip rail from a 2003 Civic?
There is a crack underneath one of the drip rails on my 2003 Civic and I'd like to be able to remove and replace it without damaging it so I can get to the crack to repair it. Can anyone tell me how to do that?
(I'm referring to the rubber/plastic strip that runs from the corner of the windshield to the back glass.)
Thanks

Hi ncjohn, you will need a plastic trim removal tool like the ones from tool set #67021 from Harbor Freight. Place protective tape along both sides of the molding about 5-6 inches behind the windshield. Pry up the molding in that area using one of the tools - a wide one works best - and then pull the molding toward the rear to release the front clip from the pin that protrudes up from the body seam. Then pull the molding forward to release the rear end from the pin adjacent to the back glass. Replacement is the reverse operation. Make sure you have the correct molding for the side you are replacing; they are not interchangeable. Hope this helps!

Perfect! Thanks a lot.
It worked great and the crack seems to be sealed. Thanks again.
Good to hear, one less thing to worry about! : )
